In a week’s time, Business Development Director, ACT Trustee and rugby legend Rory Best will be setting off from Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on a 300km trek across Ireland raising funds for Cancer Fund for Children.
When a child is diagnosed with cancer, life changes for the whole family. Cancer Fund for Children are there to provides support to everyone, with the aim that that no child has to face cancer alone.
For over eight years, the charity has provided short breaks to families from across the island of Ireland at Daisy Lodge in County Down – a world class therapeutics centre, where each family member is helped to cope with the emotional impact of cancer and together given the space that allows them to simply be a family again.
Following on from his first challenge for the charity in 2021 where he raised €1million, this year Rory is aiming to hit his target of €2million to help the charity continue to expand their services and progress with the building of another Daisy Lodge site in Cong, County Mayo.
Starting on Tuesday 16 May at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Rory’s epic challenge will pass through counties Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Tipperary, Limerick, Clare and Galway culminating on Thursday 25 May in Cong, County Mayo.
Along the way he’ll be joined by friends, family, some famous faces and our own Ardonagh and Arachas colleagues too.
Speaking about the challenge Rory said,
As official sponsors The Ardonagh Group and Arachas are delighted to be getting behind Rory and this amazing cause once again.
